This is a dinner and recital evening, commencing at 6.30 pm the first set will follow dinner - and the dessert will be served during the intermission, before the second set. Cost per person is £45.00. Booking essential owing to limited seating.

Sophie Rosa first garnered attention after winning the Second Prize and Audience Prize at the 2nd Manchester International Violin Competition 2011. She has performed across the UK as a recitalist in venues including the Royal Festival Hall, the Purcell Room, Wigmore Hall and Bridgewater Hall.

Norwegian cellist Jonathan Aasgaard studied the cello at the Barratt Dues School of Music in Oslo with Bjørn Solum.

Ian Buckle maintains a varied freelance career working as soloist, accompanist, chamber musician, orchestral pianist and teacher. He enjoys longstanding associations with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic.

Antoine Preat Piano

Described by French Radio as “One of the most gifted pianists of the young generation,” this adopted Londoner has been invited to perform in major venues such as Wigmore Hall, Salle Gaveau, Salle Cortot, the Petit Palais, Frederyk Chopin Institute, as well as across Europe and the United States

Geirþrúður Guðmundsdóttir Cello

has performed at venues across the world, including Carnegie Hall, the Southbank Centre, the Warsaw Philharmonic, Lincoln Center, and the Banff Centre, and appeared as soloist a with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra, among others. Her performance in Reykjavík’s Harpa Concert Hall of the six Bach Cello Suites, was hailed as “an awe-inspiring experience” (Frettabladid, Iceland).

Praised for their ‘exhilarating, highly-toned’ performances (The Arts Desk), the Mithras Trio have established themselves as one of the next generation’s most exciting and dynamic piano trios.

The Trio is due to release there second CD in May 2026, featuring repertoire by Shostakovich, Korngold and Joy Lisney

Established in 2017 while students at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, they shot to international recognition winning first prize at the 10th Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition (2019). In the same year they also achieved first prizes in the 67th Royal Over-Seas League Music Competition and Cavatina Intercollegiate Chamber Music Competition, and were recipients of the Royal Philharmonic Society Henderson Award. Named as BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists for the 2021-2023 seasons, they have recorded extensively for BBC Radio 3, as well as giving live-broadcast concerts from the Cheltenham, Hay, Ryedale and Belfast International Music festivals

Philippa Mo violin - Albert Lau piano

Philippa studied at the Royal Academy of Music, London and at the Central Conservatory of Music, Beijing. Philippa now performs extensively as a chamber musician

Albert Lau performs internationally both as a solo pianist and chamber musician. His repertoire ranges from Bach to Birtwistle, and includes rarities as well as his own transcriptions. He was named a Steinway Artist by Steinway & Sons in 2022. He studied at Indiana University in the USA and at the Royal Academy of Music in London, with Joanna MacGregor.
