at Zeffirellis Ambleside
Introducing Ambleside Days: a celebration of world class contemporary music.
Featuring some of the worlds most outstanding players coming together for this unique festival in The English Lake District
‘Ambleside Days’ was a special commission by Zeffirellis in collaboration with Northern Arts
featuring the late, great John Taylor, one of the worlds most gifted jazz pianists.
This 4 day festival will feature Dave Holland, Norma Winstone, Tim Garland, James Maddren, Asaf Sirkis, John Helliwell, Gwilym Simcock, Mike Walker, Nikki Iles, Mark Lockheart, Steve Watts, James Maddren and Joe Locke.
All the above musicians have been inspired by John Taylor over the years.
Ambleside and the surrounding area has been the creative inspiration for many great artists, poets and musicians over the centuries. Beatrix Potter, William Wordsworth, Thomas De Quincy, Samuel Coleridge, John Ruskin, Kurt Shwitters, Russell Mills and Steve Coogan.
What makes this festival unique will be the collaborative interaction between these world class performers. There will be fluid movement of the musicians into different and exciting new groupings: duo’s, trios, septets etc.
Each evening there will be two major performances in the auditorium and also in the Jazz Bar.
Tickets are £30.00 per evening in the auditorium to include both performances. Please click here to book tickets online
